Growth Engineer

About the company

Braintrust is the end-to-end developer platform for building world-class AI products. AI development is a relatively new paradigm combining code and datasets, incrementally refining both using frequent evaluations. Our product lets you evaluate LLM applications and iteratively improve them, with a rich set of tools to visualize changes and interrogate failures.

Developers integrate Braintrust into their continuous integration and development loops, often running 50+ experiments per day, so it's critical that our UI is simultaneously intuitive and performant while supporting rich visualizations.

Our team includes AI, design, and database veterans who have exited multiple companies and worked at Figma, Nuro, Impira, Singlestore, Google, Amazon, Cruise, and Airtable. We're backed by Greylock, Elad Gil, Basecase, and leading CEOs/founders.

Although our headquarters is in San Francisco, we are open to remote candidates for this role. We have one 30-minute meeting per week. We value ownership, bias for action, and unstructured collaboration.

About the role

We're looking for a growth engineer who is excited about enabling software engineers to build world-class AI products. Our primary users are engineers and PMs at innovative tech companies who value product quality, iteration speed, and staying at the forefront of AI. This also means they have a really high bar for the quality of the tools they use, and expect our documentation, tutorials, and community resources to be exceptional.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop technical content and features that drive customer adoption. You’ll ideate and implement features and content (like our cookbook) that impact user acquisition, onboarding, and retention.
  • Help developers discover Braintrust. You’ll work with our marketing team as a technical counterpart to come up with SEO and growth strategies — creating effective technical content that drives developers to our platform.
  • Partner closely with our product and engineering teams. You’ll take any idea and figure out how to make a proof of concept. You will also help manage product releases to ensure they are developer-friendly and well-documented.

Ideal candidate credentials

  • You have experience as a public-facing software engineer or a content marketer who can code.
  • You have written high-quality code (send us a link to your Github!), documentation, and how-to content that has helped developers find success with technical products.
  • You have owned problems end-to-end, and are willing to pick up whatever knowledge you’re missing to get the job done.
  • You have thrived in environments where things are sometimes loosely defined and may have competing priorities or deadlines.

Benefits include

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Competitive salary and equity
  • AI Stipend ($50/mo to spend on AI products)
